Great Full Moon Party, Jan. 30 2010

The festivities kicked off at 6 with some local musicians playing in an “open mike” format until about 8 o’clock. Thanks a lot Steve, Peter, Cailin, and everyone else who played. DJ Lee threw down the tunes all night, thanks for all the requests. What a fun dance party! I got reacquainted with Jaeger Bombs (been a while). Thanks to everyone who came out to party. It was great to meet some new people, and see some folks we haven’t seen in a while.

Music Town

We had a fun night Wednesday April 8th 2009 at El Vagos.

I hosted the first open mike and some great players showed up.

First, Andy and I played some of his original songs. Then I heard some other music on the beach, and went to investigate. Mickey joined us for some Venezuelan and Costa Rican traditional music, some La Bomba, more La Bomba later on.

Then Mike and Mitch showed up bearing tiny guitars that played really well as was evidenced in their repertoire of classic rock, blues and alternative rock songs.

Legend hung in there all night on the harps, and filled out the sound nicely, as usual and Paul kept the fun rolling- breaking out tunes we didn’t expect like Men at Work’s “Overkill”.

We played until about an hour after they closed the bar.

All in all it was a very fun entertaining evening of live music.

All musicians are invited to attend the next open mike, this Wednesday evening. The more the merrier. Come out to El Vagos and have a sunset drink on the beach, grab a pizza, and we will start this week’s session at 7 pm.

Even if you only know a couple songs, come out and play them. There is a guitar all set to go, or we can mike your acoustic.

Any bass players out there? Come this week please!
